Casting Crowns - Lifesong series

1/16/2006

Casting Crowns’ most recent CD (Lifesong) is probably their best yet. The messages in their songs speak (sometimes pointed) truth to mainly the church-going people. When we listen to songs, we memorize and can sing along with them without even realizing what we are singing. The lyrics in CC’s songs are too timely for our generation to let pass by. That’s why we are currently studying these songs and the message they speak to the "church crowd". (Yes, this is a bit unorthodox, but look who’s class we’re doing it in! Makes sense now, huh?) Anyway, come join us in our study of Casting Crown’s Lifesong CD and see what God has to say through it to us.

Working Character into your Children

2/22/2004

On Feb. 22, I passed out an article from a newsletter I get called No Greater Joy. I have been saving this article for SIX MONTHS because it tied in so well with this week’s lesson, Chapter 9 of A Life Well Spent. I realize that you all couldn’t be there this Sunday, so I have some extra copies of the article that I can give you or fax to you. If you would like the barebones text without the graphics, you can click on the link and read it from their website. I hope it inspires you like it did me!

If you would like to read their articles on a multitude of many other parenting issues, you can go to their home page at www.nogreaterjoy.org. Happy parenting!!!

Resources: Discussing sex with your children from a Christian perspective

9/22/2003

There was so much interest concerning the books we were talking about in SS on 9/21/03, I have posted a link to purchase the book series for your convenience. Just click on the headline of this article and it will carry you to an Amazon page that will allow you to purchase the whole series. If your children are older, you can purchase any one of the individual books seperately.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, our icebreaker question that Sunday was "When did you tell your children about sex and who told them?" It brought up a CLASS-LONG discussion about the importance and struggles of establishing a good INITIAL view of sex from a Christian perspective. If we wait too long, our children’s minds are forever tainted by the world’s warped attitude toward our bodies and God’s gift of sex. God has given YOU the responsibility (and privilege) to "train up your child". Don’t forego that right to the world!

OnLine Bible

4/30/2003

This is an OnLine Bible. This is very useful as an on-line reference. There are three different bibles you can choose from, KJV, American Standard and Youngs. You select the bible you wish to use then select the book and then the verses. Hope you enjoy using it and sharing your favorite verses with your classmates.

Press the Headline link to use the OnLine Bible.

Thanks, Chad!

5/1/2003

A HHHHHHUUUUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEE "THANK YOU" goes out to Chad, for doing this. And the amazing thing is that throughout the development of this website, he gave me the impression that the whole thing was effortless. I know how these things go. There’s a LOT more work than you think! It’s like the duck. He looks like he’s just magically gliding across the top of the water, but underneath the water, he’s paddling his tail off! Thanks, Chad, for having such a servant attitude!
